Target Information
The CREB5 gene encodes a member of the CRE (cAMP response element)-binding protein family, containing zinc-finger and bZIP DNA-binding domains. The protein binds to CRE as a homodimer or heterodimer with c-Jun or CRE-BP1 and functions as a CRE-dependent trans-activator. Alternative splicing results in multiple isoforms.
