Target Information
Differentiated embryo-chondrocyte expressed gene 1 (DEC1) is an important protein involved in embryonic cell differentiation, proliferation, and apoptosis. It is regulated by hypoxia, and loss of DEC1 expression may be an early event in lung cancer development. In other cancers, DEC1 may be up-regulated under hypoxia and could play a role in cell death under extreme conditions.
