Target Information
This gene encodes a tissue-restricted nuclear transcriptional activator preferentially expressed in lymphoid tissue. It defines the LAF4/MLLT2 gene family of nuclear transcription factors involved in lymphoid development and oncogenesis. In some acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) patients, this gene fuses with MLL. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different proteins have been identified.
