FGFR2는 수용체 티로신 키나아제 계열인 FGFR 패밀리의 구성원으로, 혈관형성, 세포분열, 골형성, 근형성, 암발생, 세포분화, 조직 재생 등 다양한 세포 기능을 조절합니다. FGFR 패밀리는 암, 류머티즘 관절염, 당뇨성 망막병증 등 여러 질환과 관련이 있으며, FGFR2 유전자 변이는 Crouzon, Pfeiffer, Apert, Jackson-Weiss, Beare-Stevenson, Saethre-Chotzen 등의 증후군과 연관되어 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변형으로 여러 isoform이 보고되어 있습니다.
