Target Information
The TOMM34 protein is involved in the import of precursor proteins into mitochondria. It exhibits chaperone-like activity by binding unfolded proteins and assisting their mitochondrial import. Found in the cytoplasm and sometimes associated with the outer mitochondrial membrane, TOMM34 has weak ATPase activity and contains six TPR repeats.
