Target Information
PDE2A (phosphodiesterase 2A) is a 100 kDa cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase. Three isoforms (PDE2A1, PDE2A2, PDE2A3) arise from a single gene through alternative splicing. PDE2A degrades both cAMP and cGMP, with higher efficacy for cGMP. It is expressed in various tissues, most abundantly in the brain, particularly in the cerebellum and neocortex. PDE2A is implicated in penile erectile dysfunction and regulation of fluid and inflammatory cell transport across the endothelial barrier.
