Target Information
The RNF139 protein is a multi-membrane spanning protein containing a RING-H2 finger domain, localized in the endoplasmic reticulum. It exhibits ubiquitin ligase activity and has been associated with hereditary renal and non-medullary thyroid cancer due to gene translocation. Studies in Drosophila suggest interactions with tumor suppressor protein VHL and COPS5/JAB1, which mediates degradation of CDKN1B/P27KIP.
