Target Information
Defensins are microbicidal and cytotoxic peptides produced by neutrophils. Members of this family share high sequence similarity. The beta-3 Defensin (Defensin, beta 103) gene encodes a peptide with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, playing a key role in innate epithelial defense.
