The zinc transporter (ZnT) family regulates intracellular zinc supply. Members of this family typically contain six membrane-spanning domains, a histidine-rich intracellular loop, and a C-terminal tail.
ZnT-1, a ubiquitous protein (~60 kDa), localizes to the plasma membrane and aids in zinc export from cells.
