Target Information
NIT2 exhibits omega-amidase activity, converting toxic intermediates such as alpha-ketoglutaramate and alpha-ketosuccinamate into biologically useful metabolites (alpha-ketoglutarate and oxaloacetate). Overexpression reduces colony-forming capacity by causing G2 phase arrest in cultured cells.
