Product Specific Information

Alkaline Phosphatase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation, and ion-exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis.
Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum, as well as purified and partially purified Alkaline Phosphatase [Calf Intestine].
Cross-reactivity against Alkaline Phosphatase from other tissues and species may occur but has not been specifically determined.
Target Information
Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) is a homodimeric enzyme (86 kDa) containing two zinc atoms crucial for its catalytic function per monomer.
It is optimally active at alkaline pH and found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes.
ALP plays a role in liver metabolism and skeletal development.
In bacteria, ALP acts as a source of inorganic phosphate, and in yeast, it serves as a model for studying membrane protein sorting.
