이 단백질은 interphase와 metaphase 모두에서 inner kinetochore plate 단백질인 CENP-A 및 CENP-C와 공위합니다.
Centromeric heterochromatin 외부(여기에는 CENP-B가 위치) 및 kinetochore corona 내부(여기에는 prometaphase 동안 CENP-E가 위치)에 존재합니다.
