Target Information
ICAD (Inhibitor of Caspase-Activated DNase)는 핵 내 세포자멸사(apoptosis)를 조절하는 단백질로, caspase-3에 의해 활성화되는 DNase의 억제제 역할을 합니다.
ICAD는 두 가지 주요 이소폼을 가지며, 45 kDa의 기능적 형태(ICAD-L/DFF45)와 35 kDa의 ICAD-S/DFF35가 있습니다.
ICAD-L은 CAD(Caspase-Activated DNase)의 활성 억제뿐 아니라, CAD의 접힘(folding)을 돕는 샤페론(chaperone)으로 작용합니다.
세포자멸사 과정에서 ICAD는 caspase-3에 의해 절단되어 CAD를 활성화시키며, 이 복합체는 DNA의 단편화를 유도합니다.
최근 연구에 따르면 ICAD는 대장암 및 뇌종양 세포에서 정상적인 세포사멸 신호전달 복원을 위한 잠재적 표적 단백질로 주목받고 있습니다.
