Target Information
Norovirus is a highly contagious virus that causes vomiting and diarrhea. It can infect people of all ages and spreads easily, with infected individuals shedding billions of viral particles. Mutations in the protruding domain 2 (P2 domain) of the norovirus major capsid protein (VP1) lead to the emergence of various NOV variants. The role of the minor capsid protein (VP2) in the generation of VP1 variants, however, remains unclear.
