LEF1 유전자는 고이동성 그룹 단백질-1과 상동성을 가지는 전사 인자 가족에 속합니다. 이 단백질은 T-cell receptor-alpha enhancer의 기능적으로 중요한 부위에 결합하여 최대 enhancer 활성을 제공합니다. Wnt 신호 경로에 관여하며, 모낭 형성과 모세포 분화에도 역할을 합니다. 해당 유전자의 돌연변이는 피지선 종양 및 기타 암(예: 안드로겐 비의존성 전립선암)과 관련되어 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사 변이체가 생성됩니다.
