Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody eBio7H22.E16 reacts with mouse BAFF-Receptor, a type III transmembrane TNF receptor family member. BAFF-R is the predominant BAFF receptor expressed on peripheral B cells in both humans and mice, found on all B220+ B cells in the spleen. It is also expressed on activated/memory T-cell subsets and plays a critical role in splenic B cell maturation, survival, and BAFF-dependent costimulatory responses.

Defects in BAFF-R can cause decreased generation of mature B cells, while overactivation may lead to autoimmune disease. The ligand for BAFF-R is BAFF (BLyS).

Applications Reported: Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Validated for mouse splenocytes at ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal performance should be titrated empirically.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

Tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 13C (TNFRSF13C), also known as BAFFR, is encoded by the TNFRSF13C gene (chromosome 22q13.1–q13.31). It is a 184-amino-acid transmembrane protein with 56% identity to the mouse homolog. BAFF enhances B-cell survival and regulates peripheral B-cell populations, playing a key role in B cell development and function through multiple receptors, including BCMA.
