Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Mammalian serine hydroxymethyltransferase (SHMT) is a tetrameric, pyridoxal phosphate (PLP)-dependent enzyme that catalyzes the reversible interconversion of serine and tetrahydrofolate to glycine and methylenetetrahydrofolate.
It exists in two forms: cytoplasmic (SHMT1) and mitochondrial (SHMT2).
cSHMT preferentially supplies one-carbon units for thymidylate biosynthesis, depletes methylenetetrahydrofolate pools for SAM synthesis, synthesizes serine, and inhibits SAM synthesis.
