Target Information
ITGA3 (INTEGRIN, ALPHA-3), also known as CD49C, VLA3, or GAPB3, is a member of the integrin alpha subunit family and functions as a cell surface adhesion molecule.
It is encoded by the ITGA3 gene located on chromosome 17q21.33.
ITGA3 forms the alpha3beta1 integrin complex, which is involved in neural migration and corticogenesis in cooperation with the beta-1 subunit.
A functional link between DAB1 phosphorylation and ITGA3 signaling regulates neuronal detachment from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 enhances viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
The protein includes 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 appears as a 150-kDa protein, matching the native form in Western blot analysis.
