Target Information
ERN1 (endoplasmic reticulum to nucleus signaling 1) is a serine/threonine kinase and endoribonuclease that acts as a key sensor in the unfolded protein response (UPR) pathway. It transmits ER stress signals to the nucleus by splicing XBP1 mRNA, converting it into a potent transcriptional activator. ERN1 plays an essential role in maintaining cellular homeostasis under stress conditions and is critical for fetal viability.
