Target Information
Nectin-3 is an 83 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin supergene family. It functions as a calcium-independent cell-cell adhesion molecule and forms various junctions, including adherens junctions, synaptic junctions, and Sertoli cell-spermatid junctions.
Both nectin-2 and nectin-3 are ubiquitously expressed, with nectin-3 predominantly found in testis and placental tissues. Nectin interacts with afadin at cadherin-based junctions and shows strong affinity with CD155 (Poliovirus Receptor).
Injection of antibody 103-A1 into seminiferous tubules disrupts actin filaments in Sertoli cells, affecting spermatid adhesion.
