Target Information
GST (Glutathione S-transferase) is a 26 kDa protein found in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes, where it catalyzes various reactions. Glutathione S-transferase is used to create the GST gene fusion system. This GST-fusion protein can be purified from cells via its high affinity for glutathione. Fusion proteins are valuable tools for studying direct protein-to-protein interactions. The GST gene fusion system has been incorporated into numerous expression vectors.
