Target Information
IGFBP3 (Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3) belongs to the IGFBP family and encodes a protein containing both an IGFBP domain and a thyroglobulin type-I domain.
This protein forms a ternary complex with insulin-like growth factor acid-labile subunit (IGFALS) and either IGF-I or IGF-II, which circulates in plasma and prolongs the half-life of IGFs while modulating their receptor interactions.
Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
Diseases associated with IGFBP3 include Insulin-Like Growth Factor I and Acid-Labile Subunit Deficiency.
