Target Information
Component of the BLOC-1 complex, which is required for normal biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles (LRO) such as platelet dense granules and melanosomes.
In conjunction with the AP-3 complex, BLOC-1 targets membrane protein cargos into vesicles for delivery into neurites and nerve terminals.
Associated with SNARE proteins, it is proposed to be involved in neurite extension and plays a role in intracellular vesicle trafficking.
