Target Information
ATG5 (Autophagy Related 5)는 자가포식(autophagy)에 핵심적인 역할을 하는 단백질로, 세포 사멸(apoptosis) 과정에도 관여합니다. 이 단백질은 산화 손상 후 미토콘드리아 품질 관리, 항바이러스 면역 반응의 음성 조절, 림프구 발달 및 증식, MHC II 항원 제시, 지방세포 분화 등 다양한 세포 과정에 참여합니다.
ATG12와의 결합 후 자가포식소체 형성에 기여하며, FADD와 상호작용하여 자가포식성 세포 사멸을 유도합니다. 또한 APG5-APG12 복합체는 RIG-I 및 VISA(IPS-1)와 결합하여 제1형 인터페론 생성을 억제하고 바이러스 복제를 촉진할 수 있습니다.
ATG5 기능 이상은 소뇌성 운동실조(spinocerebellar ataxia)와 같은 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
