Preparation:
Produced from sera of goats immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IL-6. Anti-Human IL-6-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Human IL-6 matrix.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IL-6 by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Human IL-6 (500-P26GBt) as a detection antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IL-6.
Western Blot:
For detection of Human IL-6 by Western Blot analysis, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human IL-6 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
Target Information
IL-6 encodes a cytokine involved in inflammation and B cell maturation. It acts as an endogenous pyrogen, inducing fever in autoimmune diseases or infections. IL-6 is primarily expressed at sites of acute and chronic inflammation, secreted into serum, and triggers a transcriptional inflammatory response via the interleukin 6 receptor alpha.
It is associated with various inflammation-related diseases such as diabetes mellitus susceptibility and systemic juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Elevated IL-6 levels have been observed in viral infections, including COVID-19.
Diseases associated with IL6 include Kaposi Sarcoma and Rheumatoid Arthritis (Systemic Juvenile).
