Product Specific Information
- In sandwich ELISAs, approximately 5% cross-reactivity with recombinant human Clusterin is observed.
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Target Information
Isoform 1 functions as an extracellular chaperone that prevents aggregation of nonnative proteins and stress-induced aggregation of plasma proteins. It inhibits amyloid fibril formation by APP, APOC2, B2M, CALCA, CSN3, SNCA, and aggregation-prone LYZ variants (in vitro).
Does not require ATP and maintains partially unfolded proteins for refolding by other chaperones such as HSPA8/HSC70.
Secreted isoform protects cells against apoptosis and complement cytolysis. Intracellular isoforms interact with ubiquitin and SCF E3 ligase complexes, promoting proteasomal degradation of target proteins and modulating NF-κB transcriptional activity. Nuclear isoforms promote apoptosis, while mitochondrial isoforms suppress BAX-dependent cytochrome c release and inhibit apoptosis. Plays a role in regulating cell proliferation.
