Product Specific Information
This antibody neutralizes the biological activity of recombinant mouse Thrombopoietin/Tpo. It also neutralizes recombinant human (rh) Thrombopoietin/Tpo, though approximately 25 times more Ig is required. In direct ELISA assays, less than 15% cross-reactivity with rhTpo is observed.
Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.
Endotoxin level is <0.10 EU per 1 µg of antibody by the LAL method.
Target Information
Thrombopoietin (TPO, THPO, MPL ligand, megakaryocyte colony-stimulating factor) is a key regulator of platelet production through its action on hematopoietic cells committed to the megakaryocyte lineage. Binding of TPO to its receptor MPL (CD110) triggers signaling cascades via JAK/STAT, MAPK, and PI3K/AKT pathways, promoting megakaryocyte proliferation and differentiation, ultimately leading to platelet formation (thrombopoiesis).
Thrombopoietin is constitutively produced by the liver and has a predicted molecular weight of 38 kDa.
