ERp29 유전자는 소포체 내강에 존재하는 reticuloplasmin을 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 protein disulfide isomerase 계열과 서열 유사성을 가지지만, thioredoxin 모티프가 없어 disulfide isomerase로서의 기능은 없습니다. 단백질은 이합체를 형성하며, 소포체 내 분비 단백질의 처리 과정에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 다양한 아이소폼을 생성합니다.
