This antibody detects endogenous levels of total SART1.
Target Information
The SART1 gene encodes two proteins: one expressed in the nucleus of most proliferating cells, and another expressed in the cytosol of epithelial cancers. Translation of SART1 involves -1 frameshifting during posttranscriptional regulation, and its full-length sequence has not yet been published.
Both proteins are implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation and possess tumor-rejection antigens. SART1 contains tumor epitopes capable of inducing HLA-A2402-restricted cytotoxic T lymphocytes in cancer patients.
This antigen may be useful for specific cancer immunotherapy and may serve as a model for the diagnosis and treatment of atopy. SART1 is essential for recruitment of the tri-snRNP complex to the pre-spliceosome during spliceosome assembly.
