Target Information
B cell linker protein (BLNK) is encoded by the BLNK gene located on chromosome 10 in humans. Also known as SLP-65 (Src homology 2 domain-containing leukocyte protein of 65 kDa), BLNK acts as an adaptor protein in the B cell receptor signaling cascade. Studies show improper development of B cells in the absence of BLNK. It undergoes tyrosine phosphorylation by Syk kinase, providing a platform for interaction with signaling intermediates such as Vav GEF and Grb2.
