Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the CHD family of proteins characterized by chromo domains and SNF2-related helicase/ATPase domains. The protein is part of the Mi-2/NuRD complex involved in chromatin remodeling via histone deacetylation, essential for transcriptional regulation. Autoantibodies against this protein are found in some dermatomyositis patients. Three alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been described.
