Target Information
HSPBAP1 (HSPB associated protein 1), also known as PASS1, is a 488 amino acid cytoplasmic protein containing a JMJC (Jumonji C) domain and shares 80% identity with its rat homolog. It is widely expressed, with highest levels in ovary, thymus, and pancreas, and is involved in cellular stress responses and potentially chromatin remodeling. Genetic alterations in HSPBAP1 are associated with renal cell carcinoma (RCC1). Three isoforms exist due to alternative splicing.
