Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the kinesin-like protein family. These proteins are microtubule-dependent molecular motors involved in intracellular organelle transport and chromosome movement during cell division. The specific function of KIF25 has not been fully determined. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, and other splice variants lacking exon 2 and the initiation codon have been identified.
