Automate your chemistry and reap the benefits

AVA lab control software has been designed to simplify your experiments while improving the accuracy of your data and quality of your yields: from a single stirring hotplate, through to a multi-device jacketed reaction system.

  • Complete automation

Control stirring, heating and cooling, make controlled additions and more with complete process data logging.

  • Huge savings

Improved productivity means you make savings in both time and money.

  • Safer chemistry

Control software allows you to define safety overrides and cut-off conditions for your experiments.

  • Flexibility

With four different software levels, AVA can work for your equipment and budget.

Four software levels to suit your application and budget

The different levels determine the types of devices that can be controlled and logged by AVA.

Upgrade between AVA Levels at any time

If your needs change, requiring control of more apparatus, AVA Software can be easily upgraded.

Save Money

Automating your chemistry saves time and money

Advantages of software automation

  • Improve productivity – free up valuable research time
  • Record, share and analyse experimental results
  • Repeat experiments accurately for reproducible and consistent results
  • Share results between users to improve research and collaboration

Safer

Automation makes your chemistry safer

Enhanced safety

  • Run unattended experiments safely
  • Reduce manual errors
  • Set apparatus safety limits to prevent accidents
  • Configure audio and visual alarms

AVA can easily automate your chemistry

Use AVA software to

  • Control and log common laboratory apparatus and processes
  • Eliminate time-consuming, manual data recording
  • Track what you do, as you do it and repeat in the experiment scheduler – ‘Track and Repeat’
  • Visualise results for rapid analysis and reporting
  • Link devices for dual control e.g. pump and balance for additions
  • Control up to four experiments in parallel

AVA Software is a big step forward from conventional manual control and lack of data loggingDr. Jing Liu, Scientist III, Dart Neuroscience

Multi device

Control multi-device reactions

  • Control up to 4 reaction systems with up to 16 devices on one screen
  • Create complex experiments with any number of steps in series or parallel
  • Pre-program multi-step recipes, with the flexibility to make and track on-the-fly adjustments
  • Interlink devices and set feedback/control loops, end-point conditions and safety limits

No manual recording

No more manual data logging or manual errors

  • Automatically record reaction parameters and log what you do, as you do it
  • Repeat experiments accurately for reproducible and consistent results
  • Create reports in a few clicks or export data as a CSV file for further analysis
  • Share results between users to improve research and collaboration

Unnattended

Safe unattended chemistry

  • Automate cooling during exothermic events
  • Link devices such as balances and pumps for controlled, unattended reagent addition
  • Define safety overrides and cut-off conditions
  • Configure audio and visual alarms

Select your Apparatus set up

  • Select Apparatus background that matches your reaction setup
  • Select up to four Apparatus setups
  • Create new or open existing Apparatus templates

Add devices

  • Select and name devices
  • Set device parameters and safety limits
  • Link devices for dual control e.g. pump and balance for gravimetric additions

Select Direct or Schedule control

  • Control devices directly via the apparatus window or:
  • Use the Schedule Window to create experiment profiles e.g. create ramps, plateaus and timed actions

Track and Repeat

  • Track what you do, as you do it and record all actions
  • Repeat and refine the schedule to optimise the experiment
  • This clever feature enables automation of a manual process with ease and without any programming knowledge

Graph data and modify experiments on-the-fly

  • View real-time graphs
  • Stop, pause or skip steps and modify experiments mid-run
  • Add or remove steps as the timeline progresses
  • Add notes in the Event log

Enhanced safety for unattended operation 24/7

  • Set individual device warning alarms
  • set emergency safe conditions or reaction shutdown if a sensor limit is exceeded
  • Create safety feedback loops e.g. control a pump addition by process temperature
  • Set user-definable limits or parameters for all devices

Create reports and share data

  • Automatically logs and saves all data
  • The report wizard creates detailed reports in rich text format (for word processing) or CSV (for spreadsheets)
  • Share experiments and results with other AVA users

Control up to 4 different reactions in parallel
