Product Specific Information

The 53-2.1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD90.2 (Thy-1.2), a GPI-linked membrane molecule expressed by mouse thymocytes, mature T cells, and neurons in CD90.2-expressing strains (BALB/c, CBA, C3H, C57BL/6, C58, SJL, etc.).
Cells from CD90.1-expressing strains (PL, AKR) do not stain with 53-2.1.
CD90 is involved in regulation of adhesion and signal transduction by T cells.

Each product contains:

• 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
• 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer

Applications Tested: Mouse splenocytes (≤ 0.4 µg/test)

A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in 100 µL final volume. Cell number can range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test. Titrate carefully for optimal performance.

NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, and DAPI.
Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability with NovaFluor dyes.

This conjugate ships with CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01), required for optimal staining.
Add 5 µL per sample (regardless of number of NovaFluors) before combining with cells.
For single-color controls: 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology with engineered fluorescent signatures minimizing spillover and spread.

Target Information

CD90.2 (Thy-1) antigen is a GPI-linked glycoprotein member of the immunoglobulin superfamily.
Expressed in murine T cells, thymocytes, neural cells, Kupffer’s cells, and fibroblasts.
Thy-1 participates in cell-cell and cell-ligand interactions during synaptogenesis and other brain events.
CD90.2 (18 kDa) is found in hematopoietic cells, neurons, connective tissue, fibroblast and stromal lines, and tumor endothelial cells.
In mice, CD90.2 is expressed on all thymocytes and peripheral T lymphocytes.
