F-box 단백질은 3가지 클래스로 구분됩니다: WD-40 도메인을 포함하는 Fbws, leucine-rich 반복을 포함하는 Fbls, 그리고 다양한 단백질-단백질 상호작용 모듈 또는 인식 가능한 모티프가 없는 Fbxs입니다.
FBXW7은 Fbws 클래스에 속하며, F-box와 7개의 WD40 반복을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 cyclin E에 직접 결합하여 유비퀴틴 의존적 분해를 유도할 가능성이 있습니다.
